It seems like an obvious omission from the Twine feature set, but it would be very useful to have time based rules. Basically rules where one of the criteria for triggering is time of day. For example, I might have Twine set to alert me to vibrations, but I only want to be alerted during the hours I'm at home. I would like to be able to set up the rule so that it only triggers between the hours of 5pm and 11 pm.

I realize that Twine doesn't contain a clock internally, but it appears that the rules are processed on the SuperMechanical servers which would be able to take into account the time the rule was triggered. There would need to be a way for users to enter their Twine's local time zone into their accounts, but once this is done, time based rules should be pretty straight forward I would think.

Thanks for your consideration of this request.

-Shawn

Now that you've updated the max URL length (what is the max length btw?), and allowed POST requests;

There still seems to be a rather short maximum POST variable length. I'm trying to use an android service called "notifymyandroid.com" and the minimum variable length necessary to fire off a message (including API key, event, status and description) is 91 characters. But, in 91 characters, that is an event, status and description using 1 character each.

From what I can tell, your variable limitation is 99 characters.

Here is an example minimum POST data:

apikey=A99da857s40f632d37s17ae623ddadb7c221aac7351bd4a9&application=t&description=x&event=o

Also. a bug: When you save a POST request, then return to the webpage, it reverts back to a GET request (although the post data remains hidden in the POST data field).

It seems that with most products going to Li-ion or Li-po batteries, it would be wise to integrate it with TWINE too. After all, a perfectly good charge socket is already there (Micro USB), and there's still plenty of room on the PCB to include a charge chip. A Li-ion battery of a similar size to 2xAAA's would have oodles of power to run it for a considerable length of time.

Whether to have the battery permanent or changeable is the question though. Permanent is simpler, cheaper and could be more powerful for its size, but it has the difficulty that you will need to charge it where it's located which could be awkward for some people. However changeable allows a user to go and swap the battery at an instant when it's getting low.

I might have a look at testing the idea anyway, a simple charge circuit would be easy to incorporate into it from the USB socket, and as long as TWINE doesn't get upset at having 4.2v at its battery terminals, it should work just fine.

[Edit] Just found out recently that most of the chips are rated up to 3.6v, so there may be issues going up to 4.2 at full charge.
