Just got my Twine in the mail! It initially said I needed an update, but then when nothing happened in my excitement I clicked skip.

On the dashboard it says my Firmware is from October 2012. How do I update?

I have a twine on my garage door that is obviously working and sending alerts, but on the twine control panel, it says it has not checked in for some time. How do I fix this?

I've had my Twine setup for some time now, and have had it in a couple of roles so far (both involving the breakout board); monitoring a current sensor or float switch on my sump pump, and as an Internet-enabled doorbell.  In both cases the switch is normally open, and is closed upon activation (sump pump runs and draws power, sump bucket water level triggers float switch, someone presses the doorbell).  I've been using a pull-up resistor between the power and input lines on the breakout board, as per one of the first Twine blog posts (pre-shipping I think, so a while ago) about setting up a photoresistor.  I'm wondering if the pull-up is necessary however, given the Twine breakout seems to have a 4.7K resistor built in, and none of the recent blog posts (e.g. about setting up an Easy button) mention the need for a pull-up resistor.  Was this some kind of design change on the Twine, and am I safe using my Twine without the pull-up?

Can I access my Twines remotely? 

Recent experience with ThinkEco & their Modlet that supports my tablet turning appliances on and off from any Internet connection.

In that case a USB dongle contains a gateway to support some part of the protocol.

I do not have any connection with that company just like their application of similar devices.

I want to add a third, for orientation. I've written it and saved it, but when I next go back to my Dashboard, it's gone. I've been round this cycle three times now and it's a bit frustrating!

What am I doing wrong???

Put in new batteries, set it to fast....nothing.

Whoops...software update needed.  Done.

Monitored the vibration readings of a wash cycle, set up a rules to trigger - start shaking at 125 milli-g sensitivity  after 60 seconds.  Untrigger after being still for 120 seconds.

Opps...battery is dead email sent and oops, the wifi signal meter no longer shows.  (But it shows full battery power???)

Off to buy more AAA batteries.

Start over.

Fresh batteries!  Same battery signal strength showing.

No wifi signal showing on browser window, but seeing vibrations and orientations moving.  Really confused now.

Sent rules to Twine.  Lost Vibration display.

Sent rules again thinking the software got messed up.

Vibration display is back!

Ran machine.

No email.

Held Twine in my hand and manually set the thing off.

No email.

What the heck is going on?  I can't figure out how to use this thing, I can't figure out if the thing is working, it's sending battery dead emails when the display reads a full...I'm so confused.

I'll happily chalk this up to user error, but it doesn't seem like this should be THAT difficult?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the rules I've set up:

I get an email when the washer or dryer starts. But not when it stops!

I can't see what I'm doing wrong (and I've tried several different parameters without any luck).

Am I doing something wrong?

The time when the email is received is not always a good option. Also that approach would actually also be useful for other data collected by the sensor like temperature or orientation.

I'm a noob to Ardunio, and just got my cloudshield. I'm trying to get set up with the arudino code, but when I try to upload TwineCloudSensor, I'm getting a 'Twine' does not have a name type error.

It looks like the .ino is picking up the ancillary Twine.h etc. files, but it can't seem to make a new instance of Twine.

Any idea what's going on? Quick fix?

Before, you would enter your cell number AND carrier and country. Those options are now gone. I thought you could still send text messages without the upgrade?

Do you have to put the Twine in a specific orientation to trigger Fast mode, and Saving of rules?

Or is it simply enough to CHANGE orientation to cause the trigger?

I have been setting rules from different places, and don't always see rules that I have set elsewhere
