Belgium SMS mobistar?

Does anyone use a twine in Belgium? I know Belgium is not listed in the wiki but I have the option to choose Belgium in the list with sms rules and

then the proivider MOBISTAR (happens to be my cell phone company) but i get (often but not always) error with the text message and none comes through?

Im trying to find a simple PHP script with db possibileties to logg HTTP requests to my twine.

Id like it to send a temperature variable to it every hour and for it to logg it.

Im having a hard time finding a script like this available, any ideas?

Vibration Sensor - false positives?

Hello all

I am using my Twine to, among other things, detect vibrations in a vacation cottage so that we will know if someone has broken in. We have it on top of the base for a TV in the corner of a room, on the theory that a bad guy will at least move it as he goes for other things.

Problem is, we've been getting false positives. We received one a few days ago (coincidentally, the same day we were to arrive for the weekend), and then two more today (I suppose these theoretically could be actual moves, but...). The sensor is set at 2500 milli-gs now (it was lower last time when we got the first hit).

Anyone with experience with this problem?

changing batteries

hi folks

i am having problem changing batteries.. sounds silly.. but when the twine complains that it is low on power, i take out the old ones, and pop in the new ones... but during the change, the LED light flashes once, blinks a few times... and then nothing.

after a night, i checked in on the twine only to realise that it is not reporting in.

Took out the batteries, popped it in again, this time making it 2x sure that it sits properly... led light comes on.. flashes... and then nothing...

whats wrong with it?

my twine is mounted in place and i can't flip it around for update or anything but i have access to the battery compartment.

what's the proper procedure of changing batteries?

Twine not working - can't see it in my twine panel

Hello there,

My Twine unity went dead after a few days and i send it back to Supermechanical for replacement. I've just got the replacement unity today.

The question is, what now?

What i did:

- connected new batteries

- the lights blinked (it´s alive!)

- flipped the twine (steady light)

- connected the pc to twine's wifi (\|||Twine)

- first noticed that there was something different: in the twinesetup.com page (the one that displays when connected to twine unity) i´ve just got two options (Wireless and Network Configuration & Administrator Settings)...

- I've inserted my wifi settings (it's an access point with Mixed Network enabled. Check.)

- twine light went off

- flipped the device

- nothing happened in the webpage (as i recall the page self reloaded after a while to redirect to the real twinesetup.com), so i reloaded the page myself

- now it's the regular page, so i inserted my email/password, and... my twine is not detected.

what now?

It´s been quite a while, i'm feeling frustrated and unlucky over here...

Twine Setup / connection issue

I can't get my Twine to setup and connect to the internet/network. I follow instructions, I flip flop the twine, but once it gets to the point where it needs to connect to the Twine server, I get nothing, countdown goes to zero. I get the 3 quick flashes on the Twine indicating no connection.. Batteries replaced with new ones as well.

Router doesn't show the Twine. I've tried both static IP and DHCP, disabling all firewalls, but no change. Also added the MAC ID to the router to set it to a certain IP, still nothing.. Router is a Linksys E4500. Any ideas?

Twine can't find any WIFI networks on set up

Multiple networks in area. N, G mixed, I even set up an old router to add a B-only network. Tried set up via IE9, Firefox and iPad. No joy. There used to be a support question from others with this issue (I have it bookmarked) but it seems to have disappeared. Help Please.

I just received a twine as a Christmas gift from my wife and I've set a few rules on it to test how it works. However, they don't seem to be working.

One is set to send me an email when the temperature passed a threshold.
The other was set to email me when the twine changed to have it's top facing up.

Both of these events occurred (and I eventually saw the change in the web interface), but I never have received an email. I checked my spam folders and nothing there.

Do rules work at all? Does email in rules work?

Could Comcast see my Twine as a bot?

I've recently gotten emails from Comcast indicating possible bot activity coming from my modem. I've scanned all the PCs on my net, it's doubtful to be one of the android devices (2), nor my NAS, printer, music streamers (2), video streamers (2), or game consoles (3).

The one thing that could be seen as bot-like activity might be the Twine: frequent periodic web activity to the same server.

Has anyone else seen such messages from Comcast?

The twine lost connection with my router, now I can not reconnect the Twine, when I try to go thru setup the Twine does not show up.

cable that comes with the magnetic sensor is too short?

I have tried to save an HTTP rule several times, at first it shows the rule saved but when I go back to the page the rule is blank.

Any idea why the rule saving progress bar does not appear sometime although I have flipped the twine block to the other side as instructed on screen?

And did anyone else find it frustrating having to flip the block over to trigger immediate saving of the new/edited rules?

Rules disappeared?

I logged in tonight to check my rules as I wasn't receiving emails about the humidity sensor and vibration, and all my rules have gone, the temperature changed back to F, and my vibration threshold went back to 1000g(default??)

Any one else had the same?

I want to mount my Twine out on the front gate to monitor with a magswitch the gate opening and closing.

Do I need to put it in a plastic bag or protect it from our foggy nights here in San Francisco? Does the magswitch need protection?

I have no problem with email alerts but I cannot receive SMS alerts on any of the 4 Tmobile phones in our family. Has anyone else had or solved this issue? Is there a setting that needs to be changed in my Tmobile account? Thanks for any input.

As part of my sump pump monitoring, I have a matched pair of rules:

1) Starts shaking for 3 seconds / untrigger after 2 seconds, 125 mili-G sensitivity

2) Stops shaking for 3 seconds / untrigger after 2 seconds, 125 mili-G sensitivity

The actual shaking that I've watched happen is around 500 mG -- the pump installed today is a lot quieter and smoother-running than the old one, which ran closer to 700 mG vibrations.

Both rules set an HTTP Get to my Google Spreadsheet web app.

I have noticed that I occasionally do not get the Starts Shaking trigger before getting the Stop Shaking. That doesn't make much sense. Any suggestions for adjusting the settings?

What is the default "talking" interval for Twine?

Once I let my Twine go into its default updating schedule (i.e., not "talking faster"), the frequency from which I see updates from the device seems inconsistent. Does anybody know what the interval is? At this exact moment, my Twine is showing that it hasn't updated in 21 minutes. I've seen this before, and it often seems to resolve itself, but sometimes it seems to update every few minutes, and other times it has gone for far longer without updating (13 hours in one case). Note that this is all without a rule having been triggered. I'm just trying to figure out how long I should let it go before I start being concerned that the batteries have died without warning me, or that it's fallen off of the wireless network.

According to the website "Right out of the box, Twine has an internal temperature sensor and accelerometer for vibration and orientation detection."

The raw accelerometer output is the primary reason I backed/ordered a Twine. If I want to know if a door is being knocked on or opened or if a dryer is active or not the orientation output doesn't help much.

Ideally I want to be able to subscribe to an API endpoint that will stream accelerometer values. Is there a way to access this information today?
