I have a suggestion to the developers. IFTTT (if you are not aware) is a site that allows for Rule Based Processing of web enabled events(devices). They have channels that connect to services and with the channel, you can create rules the same way you can on the twine site.

The benefit of leveraging such a service is that twine would not have to develop / support the mechanisms of alerting. IFTTT handles all of that. They have true SMS alerting (even to google voice) and even autonomous phone calls where a rule can fire off a phone call to a number and a computer will talk the desired output to the recipiant. Plus it hooks into many different services and continues to grow. I'm looking forward to leveraging IFTTT with the pebble watch platform.

If TWINE created a channel to get the sensor output to IFTTT, and leverage their 'fast' triggers. You could use the IFTTT platform to 'do stuff' (such as texting or calling or whatever) in near real time. Likewise it would allow TWINE developers to focus on the device and the channel, instead of the myriad of items that come with the RBS and notification layers.

It's just my suggestion. I think IFTTT is doing a great job with their service and it would be a great enhancement to the TWINE product to have a IFTTT channel created.

Thank you for the read. Please 'Up Vote' this if you agree and would like the same.

It seems like an obvious omission from the Twine feature set, but it would be very useful to have time based rules. Basically rules where one of the criteria for triggering is time of day. For example, I might have Twine set to alert me to vibrations, but I only want to be alerted during the hours I'm at home. I would like to be able to set up the rule so that it only triggers between the hours of 5pm and 11 pm.

I realize that Twine doesn't contain a clock internally, but it appears that the rules are processed on the SuperMechanical servers which would be able to take into account the time the rule was triggered. There would need to be a way for users to enter their Twine's local time zone into their accounts, but once this is done, time based rules should be pretty straight forward I would think.

Thanks for your consideration of this request.

-Shawn

It would be nice to be able to specify a range of temperatures and then be notified with one message if the current temp goes outside that range and be notified with a different message when the temp goes back inside that range. So the interface for it might be inputing a low and high value for temp and then define a message to be sent for either/both of the inside/outside events.

I hope that makes sense (pun intended, of course).

As I see the options currently, you can specify temperatures and have messages sent whenever it crosses them from either direction, but there is no way to prevent the spamming of messages since each temp stands on its own instead of being a bound of a range.
