The time when the email is received is not always a good option. Also that approach would actually also be useful for other data collected by the sensor like temperature or orientation.

Example: attached to an object that falls over a lot, a "change from top" would test for any falling condition, and a "change to top" would test for someone setting it back upright. This could be done with separate rules for each falling orientation, but a "from" option would make it more straightforward.

Also note that the thermocouple will produce voltage, so I don't plan on using the 3V supply in the breakout box as a part of this circuit.

But when twine's server communicates outbound, you cannot differentiate which device it came from.

Likewise   .com?t=[temperature]&o=[orientation] only sends the temp, not orientation.

This can be overcome by sending 1 var and parsing it server side, but that is not standard.

Can I access my Twines remotely? 

Recent experience with ThinkEco & their Modlet that supports my tablet turning appliances on and off from any Internet connection.

In that case a USB dongle contains a gateway to support some part of the protocol.

I do not have any connection with that company just like their application of similar devices.

I tried resetting my twine and it did update and I can see my twine status, orientation, temperature, and vibration on the left side of the rule building page

Attached a magnet to the door. I can see it updating live (open/closed) on the Twine page so the sensor is working. I set up a rule to get notified by text every time the door opens. Here are my settings:

WHEN Switch is "opened"
trigger after open for 0 seconds
untrigger after closed for 1 second

THEN text message "Garage door was opened!"

Entered my number and test SMS is working perfectly as well! However, whenever I open my door this rule is not triggered. Even though I can see the senor go from "closed" to "open" on the live page.

I am new so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here?

There are several situations where the Twine doesn't need to listen to events at specific times. Allowing us to enter a downtime (or more) would also greatly enhance the battery life. Also the "light pollution" in my home at night isn't funny. I have so many devices that are in standby and keep the led lit. It would be nice to be able to completely turn off Twine's led. Mine flashes from time to time (and I am not even sure why). Everything else seems to work fine so it is not the "3x flashing because of wireless errors".
